He teaches History of the Middle Ages at the Department of Human Sciences, University of L’Aquila. He is an expert in Economic and Social History of Southern Italy and History of the Mediterranean.

The history of the Mediterranean told through a series of ancient, usual, traditional objects, to explain integrations, ruptures, evolutions of a historical universe with peculiar traits.

The seminar will analyze the forms of containment and repression of brigandage and banditry between modern and contemporary age, focusing attention on security forces, with the aim of expanding the research in the innovative field of security history. In this direction, we want to reconstruct in historical dimension both the theoretical and conceptual aspects and the strategies deployed to defend security, public order or particular political regimes in times of more bitter conflict

About the «Meridiana» review, n. 95

This volume of Meridiana examines some key points of the unification process, cleaning up many myths and trying to set fixed points that can constitute a problematic synthesis to dialogue with the scientific world and with the public discourse. It is an attempt to re-establish the confrontation on the relationship between Southern Italy and Unification, avoiding falling into the fantasies of a certain revisionism, but also moving on to the ground of partisan political commitment.  In this direction, the interventions proposed by Meridiana analyze some points and some problems often used in the public discourse by the southern claim, but only to place them in their historical context, verifying their features without making them prisoners of the re-elaboration and of the political needs of the present.
